Description:
This is a collection of three works, including one of his own, by Munich-born Jrg Wittmann, a renowned clarinetist and composer. He studied at the Munich University of Music and Drama and later at the Juilliard School under Charles Nydick, and since then has worked with many conductors and orchestras. He also began composing at the age of 11 under the tutelage of Henze, Rihm, and others, and has been highly acclaimed for his innovative compositions. The solo clarinet piece on this album, "Three Shadow Dances," is a work that fully establishes his style while making use of improvisation. It is also given the role of a cadenza that connects the two concertos by Mozart and Weber on this album. It is a brilliantly thought-out programming. Naxos Japan
